For our spring cleaning this year DISH had a big boost from our friends at Levi’s and Schwab! We had about 30 workers from Levi Strauss & Co. come to the Camelot early in May, and put in about 3 hours of “sweat equity.” They did touch-up painting to brighten the entrance and lobby. They also painted our stairway banister and cleaned hallway walls. All their hard work results in real cost-savings and shortens our general building work order list a bit.
We had volunteers having fun, putting in real work, and mingling with our tenants in a positive way…demonstrating what the word COMMUNITY really means. It went down so smoothly we tried to schedule them to come back next month…. They all laughed, said “no thanks”…and handed DISH a voucher for a $2,500 grant as they walked out the door. THANKS Levi’s!
A DISHrag Shout-out to the amazing team of Schwab volunteers, DISH facilities staff, and Hands On Bay Area! For the second year in a row, that great team grabbed sponges, rags, and rollers and got another fresh coat of paint up in the Windsor, this time on floors 3 and 4. They really got a lot done in just a few hours, and it was a great boost to our Windsor team. We are so grateful for our community partners like Schwab, and the fantastic folks at Hands On Bay Area who keep the volunteers coming to DISH!
