On Wednesday, May 2, a crew of Googlers descended upon the Pacific Bay Inn in the Tenderloin. No, they weren’t there to optimize our search engine rankings or talk to us about targeted ad marketing, they were there to pick up some buckets, cleaning cloths, and chemicals and get down and dirty scrubbing the PBI in a valiant effort to provide a fresh “Spring cleaning” for the building’s residents.
These gracious Googlers were joined by some of DISH’s very finest. Don Lewis, Facilities Manager; Georgetta Lovett, General Manager of the PBI; Thomas Mitchell, Desk Clerk; Steve Ortega, Maintenance Worker; and Derek Tucker II, Janitor, all joined in to help the effort.
In the end no cloth was clean and no surface left un-scrubbed. “The Google team’s work helped enhance and brighten up both hallways and the common area,” said Don Lewis. “I think everyone from our tenants to Google’s crew enjoyed the effort; hats off, and thanks to Google’s fine work and Georgetta, Steve, and Derek’s leadership.” Thanks, Googlers, for your willingness to come volunteer and for your hard work to spruce up the PBI for Spring!
