Aubrey Moore

Janitorial Supervisor

Aubrey grew up in Oakland, and at the age of 18 became homeless. For the next 19 years, Aubrey struggled to stabilize his life. Throughout his struggle, Aubrey knew that he was not being true to himself and could do better as a person. In 2007, Aubrey came to San Francisco where he changed his life. His first job was working in shelters where he felt he had found his calling to help others. Understanding very well what the clients he was serving were going through, Aubrey found joy in putting a smile on their faces and treating them like human beings. In 2018, Aubrey joined DISH looking to continue to fulfill his calling and serve the community. Every day, Aubrey is so grateful that he can be a beacon of hope to the tenants that he serves.

What is home for you?

Home requires developing a comforting, loving home within oneself first. Having all the material things in the world means nothing if you do not find peace within yourself since you will always be searching externally to fill an inner hole.
