Michael Henry

Senior General Manager

Michael is deeply moved by being of service, modeling something inspired, and creating equity and access for underserved communities. In 2005, he began developing programs centered on Trauma-Informed Systems (TIS) and ending generational trauma. He designed and funded initiatives aimed at reducing PTSD in the veteran population, established a trauma-informed nursery for children whose families had been justice-involved and experienced significant trauma. He also created food distribution sites to combat food inequality while offering culturally relevant options. Over the past six years, his focus shifted to frontline service. He began as Program Manager of an Adult Access Point at the Tenderloin Linkage Center, serving over 100 guests daily, connecting individuals to Rapid Rehousing (RRH), Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), harm reduction services, benefits, and dignity-centered care. After two years in Adult Coordinated Entry, he transitioned to Family Coordinated Entry as Program Manager. Later, as Director of Homelessness Prevention at Catholic Charities, he ensured that vulnerable families and individuals remained housed after experiencing hardship. His journey has taken him through many roles, but none more deliberate than his current work at DISH. He takes great care and responsibility in bringing his best self to the Auburn and Minna Lee communities.
